It's cruel, and unecessarily averting attention from Daniel's essay, but nevertheless, regardless of it's mediocrity as an essay, is an essay.

The Decline of Sprite Comics - Furthered!

Recently, I read the truly awesome paper/essay/post-whatever on Spritescape's main page, discussing the matter at hand, focusing on the world of Sprite comics today, and they're slow descent into a pit of thick black, disgusting, n00bish goo.

I could relate to it, nearly word for word, and with that essay in mind, and it occured to me, the real question was, why does seeing a sprite comic at the calibur of mine, or Spritescape's, or even Heroes Inc entice these fools so to make a sprite comic of thier own? Is it the fact that it looks simple? Or that they believe they are artistically talented enough to do it? Or is it simple in spite of our sucess, that they have to make a comic demeaning the people around them, to purposefully take away from our comic in the process?

In any case, I decided to go directly on the scene, and check out the current array of horribly talentless sprite comics inhabiting the internet-sub world of Sprite comics, message boards. I returned to the Nintendo "Nsider" forums, briefly, and one "Mario across the Ages" comic came to my attention nearly instantly.

I read his first comic, and at first, I was not suprised. It was the exact same garbage, as every other comic, but merely with a better font, and no overused background. I then posted my opinion. I was a little bit nice, but I didn't hold back much, because I used to post my comic at that peticular forum, and I HATED those comics, for being such a nuisciance and taking away from my own.

I said to the user; known as 'SONIC17'

"Urrgh. Another one.

You don't abbreviate internet slang into a comic, unless you are purposefully trying to make Mario look like an idiot, but not even talking correctly. You can resize sprites, its not impossible. You need humor for a good comic, including more than one punchline - unless you're going for the "Family Circus" sort of feel, and that comic sucks anyhow.

Please do us a favor, and either make your comics better, or stop entirely.

Although I do owe you more than that. You didnt use a horrible font, your sprites weren't AGHASTLY resized atrocities, and you didn't use M&L sprites plotting to save Peach on the first comic.

Kudos, but still not the best. By far."

The user replied:

"Urrgh. Another one.

You don't abbreviate internet slang into a comic,I meant to spell it like that cause it sounds alot better than "Through" unless you are purposefully trying to make Mario look like an idiot, but not even talking correctly. You can resize sprites, its not impossible. It is when you don't have a Sprite Resizer. You need humor for a good comic,Please take that up with the thousands of people who did say it was funny. including more than one punchline - unless you're going for the "Family Circus" sort of feel,No I'm not and that comic sucks anyhow.Do me a favor and switch back to Windows ME and then you will know how I Feel cause I don't have Windows XP.

Please do us a favor, and either make your comics better, or stop entirely.I don't think i'm going to stop and my comics are fine just the way they are right now.

Although I do owe you more than that. You didnt use a horrible font, your sprites weren't AGHASTLY resized atrocities, and you didn't use M&L sprites plotting to save Peach on the first comic.Well later on I use M&L Sprites but I'm reverting back to the Old Sprites Next Comic.

Kudos, but still not the best. By far.I'm not as good as Falcon6 ok.

I bolded the comments in black
"

Falcon6 is a sonic fanboy in this message board. He far exceeds the regular idiocy of a member posting sprite comics, but in the case itsself, he is still another sprite-monger fool, helping dumb down the community.

I replied:

"My response focues on the the points of your comments, "in Bolded Black".

To begin with, I primarily based my post on your first page or so, of comics, so I did over exaggerate a little. Though, seeing another crappy sprite comic, but still seeing dedication, I held back. I'm "thru" as you might say, being nice.

Internet slang, is stupid. Though it may be appealing to use occasionally, it is annoying, it proves your own stupidity, and it sounds like utter crap if you read it out loud, and its not based off a real word. You told me you intentionally used "thru", but it appears that you are covering your own rear. Perhaps you are? I don't care. I see it as a way to secretively hide that you ran out of room when typing in your text bubble, and were too lazy to redo it.

You might say that your fans like you comics. and that they think it is funny, and they don't care if you can't type. But it is all too well known, that those are feeble, unethusiastic responses. I marvel at them, though. "Not Bad." "Hey thats pretty cool!" "ROFL!" I continue to ask myself, though, are these people looking at the same comic I am?

Which returns us the matter at hand. Your comments. "..when you don't have a Sprite resizer" It's called MS paint. Honestly, it'll do the job, just LOOK.

And if you'd look, my post had nothing to do with Falcon6. If anything, it was giving my opinion about the thousands of talentless cretins, that post uninspired sprite comics that wallow in mediocrity, with all of them having literal piles of hollow praises piled upon them. When I told you to get better, or stop, I meant it. Get better, or stop.

I'd be more apologetic about being this thourough with a response, but because of a mistake on my part, you all decided to treat me as if I was stupider than you are.

But I'll spare you the "OWNED" or "U phail" or whatever, because that'd annoy me too"

He mostly replied with mildly stupid and witty remarks as to my intelligence, and the fact that I "dont know what is like to run a comic", but he basically shut up there. And then, there were the matter of his hollow, idiotic fans. They heavily defended him, proving that there are people in fact, stupider than this user. Enough so to read his crap-for-comics.

So in fact, the reason these idiots think it is a good idea to make thier own sprite comic, is not because they think they can better us, but in fact because they 'think their comics are fine the way they are' and wish to entertain the public.

Entertainment comes at a price, and this is one hell of a tragic flaw.

In any case, this encounter of mine concludes that everything, or close to that, of what Daniel said was entirely true. Nice work, Daniel! *cough*

I quite enjoyed stirring up this guy's shit, by quoting Dan's essay repeatedly, trying to tell the stubborn bastard his comics suck. Perhaps I'll do it again!
